We’re surrounded by his love

Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people, both now and forever. Psalm 125:1-2 NLT

You may often hear of people talking about the promises of God, but have you ever been unsure of what exactly they’re referring to? Maybe you’ve wondered why it is that God has given them a special promise, but has left you to fend for yourself. What is their secret?

The good news is that the answer is right at our fingertips. But, it is somewhat of a secret. It’s something we have to look for. It’s something we have to set time aside in order to find.

Read through the passage another time, and see if you can point out the promise.

Quite simply, and yet profoundly, the secret is the Bible – the inspired Word of God. The promise we find here is that those who trust in the Lord will not be defeated, but will endure forever. The Lord surrounds his people then, now, and forever.

The Bible is full of promises from God. It speaks constantly of who he is and how much he loves us.

If you need a promise today, maybe you can hang onto this one. Put your hope in the Lord, and watch as he surrounds you.
